Adjustment layers allow you to apply effects automatically to any layers that sit below them in your composition. This makes it easy to control stylistic effects such as for colour grading and change effect parameters globally.

As an advanced concept we will also look at how to adjust the opacity of your adjustment layers to control (and animate) where the effects are being applied.
